Music by old men – the name is program: Moustaki, van Veen, Wader, Dylan, Kreisler … trilingually Rolf Mayer sings through the ups and downs of his time. Songs, chansons, political, non-political, romantic and non-romantic … a musical journey through a revolutionary as well as romantic era.

Rolf Mayer, who is probably somewhat better known in Saarland, presents
always in a good mood the
“Music by Old Men,” on his guitar. The trained hotel businessman covered the songs of his great idols like Georges Moustaki, Hermann van Veen, Hannes Wader, Georg Kreisler, but also Jaques Brel, Charles Aznavour and, and, and.... They are all artists who lived and worked in a revolutionary time, and Rolf Mayer sees himself as their mouthpiece regarding lyrics and melody.
Thus he also sang appropriately: “With our wishes and questions…we don’t feel alone…friends, nice to see you.” Rolf's father made him learn to master the languages German, English, and French in word and writing. Today he can use this knowledge excellently in music. That’s why he still sings his songs trilingually.
A happy coincidence has brought the two, Hubert and Rolf, together, as Hubert also speaks and sings, alongside his wonderful musical abilities, fluently in these languages.

About Hubert Koop, it can be said that he is an exceptionally experienced musician and expresses himself on the piano, organ, and accordion.
Although he is considered a cornerstone of Saarland's beat and rock history (BLACKBIRDS), it has become apparent that this instrumentation, even together with the guitar, is excellently suited to bring songs from German and English-speaking countries to the stage, particularly French chansons.
He has gained his vast experience during numerous band formations and memberships. Already in the late sixties, he was a founding member of the “BLACKBIRDS.”
More bands followed.
Particularly noteworthy is the membership of the so-called “PETE MILLER BAND.” This was the house band of the Saarland State Chancellery at the time when Peter Müller was the Prime Minister of Saarland.
