Around the turn of the 20th century, Traben-Trarbach was the second largest wine trading center in Europe after the French Bordeaux. In the second half of the 19th century, the capacity of Traben-Trarbach's wine cellars expanded like in no other Moselle community, and large parts of the town center were excavated. Today, the Traben-Trarbach underground invites you to an exciting journey through the history of historic viticulture and old cellar techniques, as well as wine tastings and culinary delights within historic walls.
