Around the turn of the 20th century, Traben-Trarbach was the second-largest wine distribution center in Europe after Bordeaux. In the second half of the 19th century, the capacity of the Traben-Trarbach wine cellars was expanded like in no other Mosel municipality, and large parts of the town center were built underground. Today, the Traben-Trarbach underground invites you on an exciting journey through the history of historical viticulture and ancient cellar technology, as well as wine tastings and culinary delights within historic walls.
