The Peter Karp Band is a super band founded by the award-winning singer-songwriter, guitarist, pianist, and bandleader from Nashville, Tennessee (USA). Peter Karp has developed a unique style in American music with his distinctive lyrical songwriting, perfected slide guitar and energetic piano playing, as well as his dynamic stage performances. He moves through the fiery genres of roots blues music and produces an original mix of sounds and songs that journalists have described as "soul-influenced Americana-blues rock." Karp is considered a remarkably rare talent in American roots music.
In his earlier bands, he worked with legendary Rolling Stones guitarist Mick Taylor, New York blues rocker Popa Chubby, and singer-songwriter and guitarist Sue Foley from Austin, TX. Quote from Mick Taylor: "People like Peter Karp, James Taylor, and Bob Dylan embody Americana blues, and we English musicians are inspired by that."
In his band for the European tour in fall 2026, the great electric & slide guitarist Mark Johnson from Atlanta, GA, co-founder of the legendary Southern roots rock band Delta Moon, plays.
The grooving rhythm section comprises the two extraordinary brothers Marco and Paolo Xeres. The Xeres brothers, living on Lake Como in Northern Italy, have been playing together for 40 years and have accompanied many famous musicians from all over the world, including Kenny Neal, John Mooney, Louisiana Red, and Delta Moon. Peter Karp calls this band lineup "the best I've ever played with."
Peter Karp will present his latest CD "Jersey Town" in 2026. Recorded in the USA, "Jersey Town" captures the rough, wild birthplace where he honed his great storytelling skills and aggressive guitar artistry with confrontational blues swagger. 11 original songs with universal themes such as loss, love, murder, infidelity, faith, fate, and despair.
