Konzert mit Triple Change

in Tom's music cellar

Triple Change
In 2020, 3 experienced musicians decided to revive a music genre that was quite popular in the 1970s – JAZZ-ROCK.
When they agreed on who should play which instrument, Rainer Wollmann found himself on guitar, Thomas Bitdinger on bass, and Gregor Zengerling ultimately took on the drums. The pieces are mostly performed instrumentally, though the three do not shy away from grabbing the microphone to entertain the audience verbally. The approximately 2½-hour program includes titles from artists such as Larry Carlton, Stanley Clarke, Billy Cobham, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Jaco Pastorius, David Sanborn, Mike Stern, and Toto.

Rainer Wollmann
The passionate guitarist received his first guitar at the age of 12 and formed his first band at 15.
In the early 80s, he founded the group "Starkstrom," with which he performed regionally. He also made first contacts to jazz music with Helmut "Daisy" Becker. Collaborations followed in various formations in the areas of rock, pop, and increasingly more jazz. He accompanied artists such as Katja Eppstein and Ingrid Peters, as well as theater productions with Deborah Sasson, Anna Maria Kaufmann, and Uwe Kröger.
From 1990 to 1994, he studied "Jazz Guitar" at the Conservatory of Luxembourg under Jacques Pirotton.
He was also taught by Michael Sagmeister, Peter O'Mara, and Frank Haunschild for many years.
Since 2000, he has been a guitar teacher at the Modern Music School.
In 2007, he founded the acoustic band "Timeless" and is internationally active as a freelance musician in various formations.
Current projects and bands:
"Horn & Strings" (Jazz), "Timeless" (Acoustic), "Hot Rod" (Rock), "Blues & Jazz Company" with Steff Becker (Jazz), "Triple Change" (Jazz, Fusion, Rock), "Beautiful Disaster" (Rock).

Thomas Bitdinger
His musical beginnings started at the age of 9 with a classical education on the flugelhorn.
At 13, he learned to play guitar. Two years later, he bought his first bass, which he learned autodidactically.
He has expressed his diverse musical direction in various band projects since the early 1980s, including Hörsturz (original compositions in the pop area), Mike Dregger Band (gala), Mister Briefcase (Jazz-Rock-Fusion), Music Color Orchestra (Funk-Soul), Night Cream (Acoustic-Pop), No Limit (dance music), Sgt.
Slaughter‘s Chickenfarm (Blues-Rock), Shake‘s Beer (Rock).
With the gala band "Da Capo - Dance and Show Orchestra," he also accompanied artists from the Schlager genre multiple times, such as Andy Borg, Ingrid Peters, or Nicole.
He has also shared the stage with international artists like Gloria Gaynor and Stan Webb‘s Chicken Shack.
He is often booked as a substitute bassist for various big bands or to accompany gospel choirs. His engagements have taken him to other European countries as well as Turkey.
Current projects:
Beautiful Disaster (Rock), St. Andgas (Christmas project), Timeless (Classic-Rock unplugged), Triple Change (Jazz-Rock-Fusion)

Gregor Zengerling
Gregor has been passionate about percussion instruments from an early age, receiving his first drum set at the age of 6.
He initially received drum lessons from Gerhard Rietz, a professional musician from the Trier City Theatre. Music lecturer Hans-Peter Dregger taught Gregor for another three years and laid the foundation for his preference for rock and pop music.
By the age of ten, Gregor was already performing music in a duo with his brother.
In 1979, he founded the dance and show band "Take-Five" with saxophonist Peter Berg, guitarist Peter Kasper, bassist Wilhelm Hansen, and his brother Lothar Zengerling. This band evolved into the group “Peter Gun” in 1991.
A regular guest singer in this formation was the well-known guest and soul singer "Bill Marsh" from the legendary "Black Cats," allowing Gregor to explore another musical genre, soul.
By now, Gregor can look back on a moving forty-year career as a drummer in different formations. He has notably shaped the groove of bands: Crossroad, No Limit, Desperados, 4 steps behind, The Rats, Survivors, Rooster Rock, Winelight Jazz Band, and the “Rustlers.” In the supporting act for the legendary bands “The Lords” and “Canned Heat,” he performed with the Rustlers as well as Crossroad.
As a drum instructor, he has already trained many children and teenagers since 2015. Gregor conveys to them the basic musical concepts of drumming with much empathy and passion for music.
In the “Drum Group Animal” he founded, kids can experience playing together and gain their first stage experiences.
Currently, Gregor is touring with the band "Triple Change" (Jazz, Fusion, Rock) as well as “Beautiful Disaster" (Rock).
