An evening full of history, legends, and new discoveries
On February 25, a legendary event in Moselle wine history will celebrate its hundredth anniversary: the Bernkastel Winzersturm of 1926. At that time, around 2,000 winemakers marched to Bernkastel-Kues to protest against tax policy and bureaucratic arbitrariness – the protests got out of control and became known in history as the "Winzersturm".
But who was really behind the posters and calls? Were the instigators perhaps from Kröv? This exciting riddle will be explored by Dr. Christof Krieger, head of the Traben-Trarbach Mittelmosel Museum, in his lecture: “The Hidden Backers of the Bernkastel Tax Office Storm of 1926”.
