Large official opening event of the Mosel Wine Night Market
The Mosel Wine Night Market will once again kick off this year with a special musical start to the Advent season. On Friday, November 20, 2026, at 6.00 p.m., the popular underground Christmas market will be officially opened at the ice rink in Traben-Trarbach – with a varied program for the whole family.
To start the celebration, the Music Association Traben-Trarbach will set the mood with festive Christmas tunes. Afterwards, the show dance group Fireflies of VfL Traben-Trarbach will bring movement and sparkle to the ice rink with an exciting choreography.
Then it will become official: The town guard of the Sponheim Musketeers will signal the start of this year's Mosel Wine Night Market with a traditional cannon shot, thus ushering in the Advent season in Traben-Trarbach.
But the evening is far from over. Starting at 7.30 p.m., PortWine. with Rike Port and Achim Weinzen will provide the perfect musical accompaniment and a festive conclusion.
The duo promises a musical experience that captivates and touches its audience. Through their harmonious interplay and their unique interpretation of well-known songs, a special atmosphere is created live – close, vibrant, and authentic. With their versatile repertoire, Rike Port and Achim Weinzen create the perfect sound for a cozy evening in a winter atmosphere.
Thus, the opening of the Mosel Wine Night Market combines tradition, dance, and live music for a delightful evening, offering the perfect start to the pre-Christmas season.
The ice rink will once again become the meeting point for locals and visitors, who wish to celebrate the beginning of perhaps the most beautiful time of the year together.
