Welcome to the Mosel Winery Spier

Our winery looks back on a winegrowing tradition that dates back to the year 1580. We have 2 hectares of vineyards, which corresponds to about 10,000 vines, all of which are located on steep slopes.

The controlled environmentally friendly cultivation of our vineyards is a must in today’s time.

Since 1988, the vineyards have been continuously converted to full wire frame, allowing the vines to utilize the sun better due to the increased leaf mass. This has further improved the quality of the grapes. This conversion was completed in 2018 when the Red Riesling was planted in the Zeppwingert location.

In wine production, we continue to use oak barrels. This aging method has the advantage that with the fully ripe grapes that we have been harvesting more frequently lately, there is more play and finesse in our wines.

Our wines have been awarded the Golden Chamber Prize Coin multiple times.
