This farm was once owned by the Counts of Daun

This farm was once owned by the Counts of Daun, who originally held the bailiwick, i.e. jurisdiction in the Kröver realm, before Heinrich von Daun sold it to the Archbishop of Trier, Boemund II, for five years in 1355 for the price of 600 small gulden. In 1468, Peter von Daun von dem Markt acquired from Diederich von Lontzen called Roben, bailiff at Wittlich, his "Hof an dem Berge", which certainly means the count's farm. In 1646, four ounces of wine per year were mentioned as wine income from the court of the "Oberamtmann von Daun".

Soon after 1700, the von Daun family sold the farm to the Count von Hatzfeld family, through whom it finally came into the possession of the von Hillesheim family by marriage and then to the Counts von Spee, who had it auctioned off on 24 February 1820.

The main building of the farm, which probably dates from around 1700, is a massive, two-storey solid construction with a high crippled hipped roof, which was later divided and rebuilt. In the inner courtyard, window surrounds from the Renaissance period are still preserved. In Dauner Gässchen, there is an archway with a small heraldic cartouche at the apex.
