Explorer Tour Mont Royal - Experience the exciting history of a former fortification
On this circular hike, you will experience up close the exciting history of the former massive fortress Mont Royal, which King Louis XIV once had built from 1687 by his brilliant master builder Vauban on the peninsula mountain high above Traben. Destroyed again by the French in 1698, excavations on Mont Royal could only be carried out in the last century based on original plans from Parisian archives.
Equipped with flashlights, you will hike with our guide through the fortress ruins and can discover the remaining structural remnants of the massive walls, casemates, and cellars up close.
The price for the 90-minute tour includes not only information about culture and history but also the equipment (flashlight).
Please ensure you wear good or sturdy footwear – participation is at your own risk.
Regular tour: 3rd Saturday of the month (Easter to November)
Here you save with your Mollie Guestcard.
