Leisurely cycle tour along the banks of the Moselle to Bullay and Zell

From Reil under the Pünderich slope viaduct, past the lookout tower on the Prinzenkopf and the Marienburg, taking the shortcut over the saddle to the Bullayer bridge and back on the other side of the Moselle via Zell, Biedel and Pünderich.

General information

Directions

From Reil, follow the cycle path down the Moselle towards Zell. Below Marienburg Castle, turn right onto the ascent to Marieburger Sattel, from where you can see the Moselle on both sides. A detour to Marienburg Castle and the viewing tower on the Prinzenkopf is also possible from there. Descend to the B421 and, after crossing the road, continue on the Moselle cycle path to the Bullayer double-decker bridge. We push the bikes over the bridge and turn right after the bridge back to the banks of the Moselle. Then right again to the jetty and the market square (gastronomy) of Bullay, famous for the Bullayer Brautrock vineyard. The way back leads along the Moselle cycle path up the Moselle via Merl to Zell, where you can take another break (restaurants). The cycle path continues past Briedel and Pünderich back to Reil.

Safety Guidelines

Take care when crossing the main road towards Alf. Push the bikes over the Bullayer bridge.
