The moderate to partly challenging mountain bike route in the Zellerland leads you from Briedel or Enkirch over steep climbs into the woods and along picturesque vineyards to the Briedeler Bummkopf.

The route, which can also be well experienced from Enkirch and with an e-mountain bike, initially leads high up on unpaved forest paths to Burg (Mosel) and the local vineyards. It continues on asphalt and gravel roads to Enkirch and up to the Bummkopf, after which it goes down again on unpaved natural paths to the starting point.

General information

Directions

From the parking lot, you ride through the town of Briedel and past the first vineyards. Cross the Briedelerbach and turn left there to the first climbs of the route. Now the character of the track changes – as up to the Bernsberg, it goes on unpaved and partly challenging natural paths through the forests. Then you ride through the vineyards of the municipality Burg (Mosel) to Enkirch. In the town or after a short climb up into the vineyards, you can take a break and enjoy the Mosel landscape. Now, after about half of the route, it goes back on gravel roads and natural paths up to the Bummkopf and to the "Beautiful View." Here you can expect a wonderful view. "Beautiful" – as the name already says. The viewpoint lies a few meters lower than the Bummkopf, which at 422 m is the highest elevation along the Hunsrück side of the Mosel. Afterwards, the route continues on flat natural paths where you can catch your breath a little until you reach the Süßenkapelle. Ahead of you is now a longer descent that you can really enjoy. Please pay attention overall and especially at this point to pedestrians and hikers. Back in Briedel and at your starting point again, the town invites you to stay. The two gems of the town are the medieval Owl Tower and the church.
