Circular hike around the former Mont Royal fortress with impressive views of the Moselle valley
Starting point: "Kordel" junction at the Mont Royal vacation village
The circular hiking trail no. 10 offers an impressive panorama of the Moselle valley of Burg, Enkirch, Kövenig, the ship lock, Starkenburg, Traben-Trarbach, Gräfenburg, Wolf, Kröv and the nearby Hunsrück and Eifel mountains
The route alternates between forest, vineyards and orchards and impressively conveys the charm of the unique river and wine landscape.
The circular route starts at the Kordel parking lot, where you can easily park. The trail first leads below the Mont Royal vacation park, with a beautiful view of the Kröv - Wolf Moselle bend. Then it continues through forests, past the Wolfer Kanzel viewpoint. You circle the airfield and cross the K64. The route then continues through woodland and with further views of another section of the Moselle back to the starting point
Avoid the closed parts of the fortress ruins at all costs!
The circular route is easy to walk with sturdy shoes.

Access via Kröv K63 and then right through the vineyards towards Ferienpark Landal Mont Royal. to the Kordel parking lot
From Traben-Trarbach via K 62 also to the Kordel parking lot.

The starting point "Parkplatz Kordel" is not accessible by public transport.
