Experience this scenic hike around Enkirch and enjoy magnificent views into four side valleys and the Moselle Valley.

This hike leads through the Steffensberg vineyard to the Five Valleys View, which offers a stunning panorama over the Moselle Valley, Monteneubel, Großbach Valley, Ahrings Valley, and Karigbach Valley. The trail then continues further into the Enkirch Steffensberg vineyard, following the valley inward. Passing through the Großbach Valley, past the tennis court and the former outdoor swimming pool, the route leads back to the starting point.

General information

Directions

Starting at the Tourist Information Enkirch, cross the main road and turn left at “Pino’s Pizzeria” into the street “Im Bungert”. Pass the wine tavern “Weingut Conrad” on your right and continue walking toward the Steffensberg vineyard. Here, turn left and follow the E2 waymarker (Winegrowing Educational Trail, Mosel Heights Trail, and Five Valleys View).

Stay on the paved road as it steadily climbs until you reach the pavilion, which offers a beautiful view. Continue left along the paved road, then turn right to reach the ridge. At a fork, leave the paved path and continue straight uphill on a dirt track to the Five Valleys View, the most scenic viewpoint of Enkirch and its surrounding valleys.

From here, descend to the right, then take the second path on the left, which leads through vineyards and into the forest (great view of the Großbach Valley). Follow the winding paved road steadily downhill into the Großbach Valley. Walk to the right through the valley, passing the tennis court, the old outdoor pool, Hotel Neumühle, and Hinkelplatz, leading you back into Enkirch.

Equipment

The trail can be comfortably walked in light hiking shoes.
