The Enkirch Nature Circular Route leads through forest habitats of different types and ages. Information boards provide numerous details at selected points.
Enkirch is not only a wine-growing community but also very forested on the heights towards the Hunsrück.
The path leads variedly over paved forest paths, meadows, fields, and trails. Numerous information boards provide information about the bird and animal life in the forest and countryside. Nesting boxes line the route.
Several rest benches with beautiful views over the heights of the Hunsrück invite you to linger.
Along the route, there is also a Celtic burial mound, evidence of the ancient settlement of the region.
From the starting point at the information hut of the Enkirch Forest Friends, the circular route is very well signposted with waymarkers.
Sturdy footwear, provisions, binoculars
A pair of binoculars should not be missing on this hike.
This is the best way to observe the birdlife or roe deer at the forest edges.
Starting point of the circular route is the information hut of the Enkirch Forest Friends, approximately halfway between Enkirch and Raversbeuren on the L193.
