The Enkirch nature trail leads through forest biotopes of different types and ages. Signposts provide a wealth of information at selected points.
Enkirch is not only a wine-growing community, but also very wooded on the heights towards the Hunsrück.
The trail leads along paved forest paths, meadows, fields and paths. Numerous information boards provide information about the bird and animal life in the forest and meadows. Nesting boxes line the path.Several benches with beautiful views over the heights of the Hunsrück invite you to linger.
The trail also leads to a Celtic burial mound, evidence of the ancient settlement of the region.
From the starting point at the information hut of the Enkircher Waldfreunde, the circular trail is very well signposted.
Sturdy shoes, provisions, binoculars
Binoculars should not be missing on this hike. This is the best way to observe the birdlife or the roe deer at the edges of the forest.
The starting point of the circular trail is the information hut of the Enkirch Friends of the Forest, about halfway between Enkirch and Raversbeuren on the L193.
