Hike, discover, understand wine
There are several stations along the route where informative and entertaining content such as videos, interviews with winegrowers and audio clips can be accessed via QR code. The wine experience thus combines nature, knowledge and enjoyment in a modern way.
There is also a special highlight for families: the children's trail with Gottfried the donkey invites young explorers to take part in an exciting hands-on story, as Gottfried loses his magic scarf and can only speak with it.
So pick up the discovery map at the Kröv Tourist Information Office or at Landal Ferienpark and help Gottfried find his scarf again.
General information
Directions
If you start the trail at the Kesselstatt chapel, first go straight ahead for a while and then take the first left uphill. At the top, turn left and continue straight ahead until after the sharp left-hand bend. The trail then continues with a sharp right-hand bend. Then the path continues straight ahead to the panorama swing on the Kalenbergerfels. Now it goes down to the right and then right again before continuing straight ahead for a while. You then come back to the crossroads from the beginning and walk down the road again towards the Kesselstatt chapel.
The wine experience can also be started at the Landal vacation park and at the Bergstraße/K36 junction.
Equipment
Much of the hike leads through the vineyards, where there is little shade. So remember to bring sufficient sun protection, headgear and water bottles, especially in summer.
Tip
You can also start the circular route from the Landal vacation park or at the end of the mountain road / beginning of the K63

Arrival by car
from the west - Trier/Luxembourg:A1/48 in the direction of Koblenz, exit Wittlich, then take the B 50 in the direction of Bernkastel, then at the Zeltinger Brücke traffic circle down the Moselle in the direction of Kröv/Traben-Trarbach
from the west - Liège: A60 in the direction of Trier/Wittlich, highway exit Wittlich, then on the B 50 direction
from the east - Frankfurt/Mainz: A 60 towards Bingen, exit Nahetal towards Koblenz, exit Rheinböllen/Flughafen Hahn, then take the B 327/50 straight on past Simmern towards Bernkastel-Kues; from the B50 turn right and follow the signs for Traben-Trarbach towards Kröv
From the south: A 61 via Ludwigshafen in the direction of Koblenz, exit Rehinböllen / Hahn Airport, then take the B 327/50 straight on past Simmern in the direction of Bernkastel-Kues; from the B50 turn right and follow the signs for Traben-Trarbach in the direction of Kröv
from the north - Cologne: A 61 direction Koblenz, highway exit Mendig, then direction Mayen, then A 48 direction Trier, highway exit Wittlich, then on the B 50; from the B50 right exit follow the signs Traben-Trarbach direction Kröv.
