Varied footpath (former towpath) on the banks of the Moselle along cultivated and open vineyard parcels as well as partly distinct alluvial forest relicts.
Interested observers will be impressed by the juxtaposition of cultural and natural landscapes with views of the neighboring village of Pünderich, the Marienburg castle and the viaduct of the Koblenz-Trier railroad line. The way back leads past the houses of the former Pünderich railroad station.
We start at Bidade Platz in the direction of the banks of the Moselle and keep left towards the Reil camper van site. Turn left again up a short incline along Burggasse. Then we turn right into Schulstraße and walk along it until it joins "Auf Mühlenrech", where we keep left into Schulstraße and cross the railroad tracks at the end. After crossing the railroad crossing, we take the 2nd turn-off to the right into the vineyards and follow this path to the railroad viaduct. Once back on the banks of the Moselle, we turn right towards the residential buildings of the former Pünderich railroad station and follow the path along the banks of the Moselle back to the starting point at Bibade Platz.
The return route follows the busy cycle path along the banks of the Moselle. Alternatively, you can use part of the Kanonbahnweg, following the signs for this route towards Reil after crossing the viaduct.
There is an ungated level crossing on the route. Watch out, trains run here every half hour.
