City hopping from the art nouveau town of Traben-Trarbach to the historic old town in Bernkastel-Kues and all this only on "cobblers' centime" and in the shortest possible time.

This trail leads from the Moselle bank Trarbach through the Moselle, Weiherstraße and Wildbadstraße to the Bernkasteler Weg. We always walk uphill past the grammar school. Initially with a view of the town and the Grevenburg ruins, we walk through orchards, disused vineyards and woodland to the so-called "Iron Wine List". After a section through the forest, the view of the heights of the Hunsrück opens up for us. Through a subway we reach a rest area on the other side of the road. Our path now goes back down to the Moselle. We follow the signs to Bernkastel. At the beginning we walk steadily downhill through the forest and then through the vineyards. Soon we reach the Waldschenke "Eiserne Weinkarte". On the further descent we have a wonderful view of the town of Bernkastel-Kues, the Moselle and Landshut Castle. In the village we can admire the historical half-timbered houses around the market place. The return journey can be made by boat or bus and we will be amazed how short the outward journey over the mountain is compared to the return journey on or along the Moselle.
