A 6 km long hike from the Springiersbach monastery through Kondelwald.
The route is very well signposted (red arrow - red 1) and leads over well-maintained forest paths that can be walked at any time of the year.
Starting point is the public parking lot at the Springiersbach monastery church.
From here, follow a service road past the Springiersbach hiking hut towards Kondelwald. Follow the signposting No. 1 (red). Along the way, you will find a wide variety of plants, from arum to wild orchids. Different types of trees such as deciduous and fir forest, broom growth, and fern fronds. Mouflon, red deer, small game and wild boar are native to Kondelwald, as well as various forest birds that you can identify by their calls and pecking. Forest fruits such as wild strawberries, blackberries, mushrooms, rose hips and tree fruits can be found according to the season. The trail goes through the district "Kellerberg", where you will also find the remains of a Roman villa. The information board there shows a sketch drawing of the former villa with a detailed description. A stop is definitely recommended. Always follow the red 1 signage, so you will easily reach your starting point, the parking lot of the Springiersbach monastery church.
Please stay on the paths to avoid disturbing the flora and fauna of Kondelwald.
Sturdy footwear and packed food are recommended.
Visit the monastery church with its baroque ceiling paintings and the choir stalls in the altar area. A visit to the monastery shop is also recommended.
Turn off B49 opposite the historic Springiersbach mills to Springiersbach.
