Hike through the Reil and Pünderich vineyard locations with views of the Mosel and the panorama of Reil.
The path leads above the federal road towards Pünderich and offers a beautiful view of Reil. In Pünderich, it then goes back below the federal road, with a view worth seeing of Marienburg, the observation tower on the Prinzenkopf, and the Pünderich hanging viaduct.
We start from Bibade Square to the Mosel bridge to cross it. At the end of the bridge, we turn right into the vineyard paths and take the 2nd left option and walk uphill. On the right side, there is a bench from which you can enjoy the wonderful view of Reil and the Mosel. Continue uphill. We stay on this path and follow it first to the right, then once again to the left, and then stay on this path until Pünderich. Now we turn left to return to the Mosel riverbank. After passing through the underpass, we turn left and follow the path until we reach the federal road at the Reil bridge again. Now cross the road once more to return to the starting point.
Extreme caution is required when crossing the federal road due to heavy traffic.
The path is also suitable for strollers. A detour into the village of Pünderich and a visit to the playground is recommended with children.
By car: via the B 53 coming from Zell or Traben-Trarbach or via the L105 coming from Wittlich.
Free parking spaces on the Mosel riverbank below the Mosel bridge. About 100 m to the starting point.
By train: take the Deutsche Bahn to Bullay, then change to the Moselweinbahn (runs hourly between Traben-Trarbach and Bullay) with a stop in Reil. From the station, it is about 400 m to the starting point.
By bus: Bus line 720 (Bullay - Traben-Trarbach) runs hourly. The bus stop is located on the opposite Mosel side at the B 53. From the stop, cross the bridge and reach the starting point in about 350 m.
