Beautiful circular route through the forest on well-maintained paths
Circular route from the car park in Springiersbach through the Kondelwald. In summer, the mixed forest provides shade even on sunny days and in autumn and winter, when the leaves have fallen, it offers beautiful views of the Alfbach valley and the surrounding mountains. Since the path only runs on well-developed paths, it is also suitable in bad weather.
We start our hike in Springiersbach at the car park opposite the monastery church. From here we go left past the church and the monastery shop to the end of Karmelitenstraße. Here we turn right into Waldstraße and then follow the paved forest path along the street to the Kellerberg shelter. Now we leave our path, which now runs uphill in a hairpin bend, and go straight on along the forest path past the aforementioned shelter. At the second junction, we keep half-left, continue along the path to the next fork where we keep half-right. From here it continues steadily uphill to the end of the path. We then turn right and stay on this path for about 2 km. Then the path forks into three directions. Here we take the middle one and follow it for about 2 km to the “Rammisch Oak”. We now switch to the paved road and follow it for about 500 m to a sharp right-hand bend. Here we turn left onto hiking trail 3 (yellow 3 on white sign) and follow this over the former fitness trail and a staircase down to the forest car park. From here it goes back via Waldstraße into Karmelitenstraße to our starting point.
Since the path is not continuously signposted, it is advisable to download it as a GPX file onto a suitable device.
Please bring enough drinks, as there are no refreshment opportunities on the route.
At the starting point, a short visit to the monastery church directly opposite the car park is recommended.
B49 to Bengel, then follow the signs to Springiersbach
Car park opposite the Springiersbach monastery church. This is also the start and end point of the hike.
