Founded in 1989 - Year-round playable outdoor courts
The Kröv Tennis Club was founded in 1989. At the beginning of the 90s, two red sand tennis courts were built directly behind the outdoor pool in Kröv. In 1999, the construction of an architecturally modern clubhouse was begun, which was completed in the summer of 2000 and could be occupied during a large inauguration celebration. A few years later, the tennis facilities were extended. A third clay court was built and the facility was completely fenced in. From the large, partly roofed terrace, there was a wonderful view over the club grounds, which had been built almost entirely by the club. A constantly committed and motivated community of members was the guarantor for this local sports project. After more than 30 years of varied sports and leisure activities, another milestone in the club's history was reached. In September 2020, courts 1 and 2 were converted into all-weather courts within 14 days by a specialised company. This had several future-oriented reasons. On the one hand, we wanted to achieve a significantly lower maintenance effort and above all minimised repair work, as well as a theoretical year-round playability with a playing surface that is always optimal from a ball-technical point of view. Our summary today: the high financial investments have so far paid off in all respects. For years, the club has had a consistently good number of members. The number of children and youth players in particular has increased steadily. Licensed coaches run group and individual training sessions on several days of the week. Several children's, youth and senior teams take part in the annual Medenrunde. But guest players are also always welcome at the facility.
