Beautiful circular hike from Springiersbach Monastery. A hike for forest bathing, relaxation for the soul and very beautiful views!

Very beautiful hike on very good, paved paths almost entirely through the forest. For this reason, the hike is recommended in any weather and at any time of year. The forest provides sufficient shade in most places even in summer. Constant change between uphill, downhill and flat passages.

General information

Directions

We start our hike in Springiersbach at the car park opposite the monastery church. From here, we pass the church and the monastery shop on the left and then turn right under the archway. Now we go straight up an incline. From here on we are on the "Kondelwaldweg", which is well signposted with white signs with a black "K". After about 200 m, we have another beautiful view of the monastery. We continue to follow the Kondelwaldweg steadily uphill. At the top, you can see in the direction of the Moselle mountains as far as the Zell Barl industrial estate. Now we go downhill until we reach the K35. Here we turn right and walk about 100m to the cycle path on the B49. Follow this to the left for about 50m and then turn left uphill, parallel to the federal road, onto a forest path. Here the route goes uphill again for about 1 km. Once you reach the top, there are several views of Arras Castle between the fir trees on the right. At the next crossroads, we continue straight ahead until we meet the hiking trail "20", white sign with black "20". We then follow this until we reach an unfortunately dilapidated refuge. Here we meet the very little used K35 again. From the district road we have a beautiful view of the Wittlicher Senke. The road continues downhill for about 500 metres. In a hairpin bend we turn right onto the hiking trail "4", white sign with black "4". We follow this path until the second crossroads. If you want to shorten the hike here by approx. 500m, you can continue to follow trail 4 to the "Ramisch Eiche". Of the two paths that leave to the right, we choose the left one. We follow this path past the "Reiberkreuz" until we reach the "Ramisch Eiche". Here you have the possibility to shorten the hike by about 1.5 km. To do this, just follow the tarred road back to Springiersbach. However, we turn left after 20m from the tarred road and after another 20m onto the right path. We are now on hiking trail "1", white sign with red "1" and direction arrow. Follow this path past the Roman villa until you are back on the tarred road. Continue past the "Kellerberg" refuge and later the barbecue hut at the forest car park until you reach the first houses of Springiersbach, where you turn left into the village. We pass the family holiday centre and after a short distance we reach the starting point of our hike again. At the end of our tour you have two possibilities to strengthen yourself.

In the café "Christe Paul", which is located directly at the car park, or in the "Alten Gasthaus Pütz", approx. 1 km away in the centre of Bengel (please note opening hours).
