A comfortable hike around Traben with many opportunities to rest - not only for children, but also suitable for senior citizens.

Starting under the Moselle bridge in Traben, this path leads along the Art Nouveau villas located on the banks of the Moselle to the Rissbach district. Children can climb on the playground on the banks of the Moselle and do an extra lap on the sports field. We continue our walk on the former towpath (on this path the ships were once pulled by hand by the "Schrötern", among others). On the Moselle we can watch ducks and swans. We walk on to the Rissbach campsite (refreshment stop), cross the road, go into the Kräuterhausweg and turn left again. At Rosenhof we follow the path slightly uphill through the vineyards back towards the town. Our view now falls on the opposite Wolfer forest, the Koppelberg situated on the height, as well as Trarbach, the Brückenschenke and the ruin Grevenburg. At the Römerstraße we leave the previous signposting T9 and walk downhill again towards the city centre. Along the entire way there are numerous opportunities to rest on benches or vineyard walls.

General information

Directions

At the tourist information "Alter Bahnhof", take the road "Im Trehl" down to the Moselle and turn right through the Moselle past the art nouveau hotel Bellevue and Hotel Anker, then follow the T9 signs. On the footpath along the Moselle to Rißbach, pass the sports field, camper van site and camping site. In Rißbach, turn left for a short distance (approx. 100 mtr.) and then turn right into Weinbergsweg am Rosenhof. Follow this road uphill past the green waste area to the elevated water tank. On this vineyard path above Traben you will have a beautiful view of the Trarbach district and the Grevenburg.

Up to this point, the path can also be used with prams, a child's bicycle or a wheelchair (from here it is better to use the Roman road leading to the town for prams and wheelchairs).

Before the first houses on the Roman road, hikers take the meadow path that descends to Traben on the right. Cross the road "Im Faller" and continue along the narrow path leading past the vineyard to the Catholic Peter and Paul Church. From here, take the road back to the starting point.
